That great bastion of political
correctness, The Australian newspaper, has in the past few weeks become the
advocate for Afghani illegal immigrants in Australia. The paper has flooded us
with stories of deprivation and images of "asylum seekers" glumly staring out through barbed-wired compounds.
In what must be a record, for five days in a row, Nicholson, the
Australian's chief graphic propagandist, bombarded the readers with
cartoons of lip-sewn refugees.
Every cartoon slagged Immigration
Minister Ruddock and the federal Liberal government even going so far as
to portray Ruddock as a Nazi camp commandant.
As previously pointed out on this site,
the politically correct, left-leaning, trendy, bleeding heart
journalists of The Australian are way out of touch with the
majority of Australians. Every survey reveals the government action on
illegal immigrants commands 80 to 90 per cent support of the
people. Talk-back calls and letters to editors of papers such as The
West Australian show similar support levels.
But the leftie collective at The
Australian must be carefully picking the letters to publish because
their letters run at about 80 per cent against the government.
Australians are tired of being bombarded
with refugee "news". And the illegal immigrants have learned
to play up to the media. We have all seen images of Afghani children
suddenly begin chanting "visa, visa" when they see a camera
pointing at them.
The media have long abrogated their
function to accurately report on news. They now control and create news
and public opinion. This is dangerous.
